George Dawson again kindly agreed to do the artwork for the etches and Pete Westwater has likewise made the majority of the patterns. The chassis is in 18/1000 Nickel Silver and the body in 15/1000 brass. The kit is supplied with all castings, handrail knobs, bearings, handrail wire, glazing, electrical wire and screw-link couplings as well as fully illustrated instructions. The buffers have turned brass shanks with fully sprung steel heads of the correct diameter. There are many lost wax brass castings including Brake Standard, Cab Dials, Lock-Up Safety Valves, Piston Valve Covers, Pyrometer, Regulator Handle, Ross Pop Safety Valves (tall and short), Steam Heating Pipes, Smokebox Blower Valve, Smokebox Door Handle, Steam Injectors, Steam Jet Retarder, Vacuum Ejector, Vacuum Pipes, Washout Plugs, Water Tank Fillers, Westinghouse Pipes and Whistle. The remaining whitemetal castings include chimney, dome, round and rectangular safety valve bases, smokebox door, sandbox lids, westinghouse pump, backhead and cab roof ventilator.

The C16 kit can be built to represent any locomotive from the North British Railway, through the LNER, and into late British Railways period. This particular example is in fully lined North British livery (model built by Peter Mullen and painted by Paul Moore).
